The Bees look comfortable in a 6-2 win

With a strong line up, the Bees came out with intent and after the first ten minutes, they could have been 4 or 5 up. Vivek Tharaken played in an unusual right wing position but it didn't take him long to adjust as he started the play, switched it to Antony Rigby who found Richard Greenhough to add to his goal tally after just 5 minutes. And it only took another 5 minutes for Rigby to add a goal to his assist when he drifted in from the left, Simon Lamb found him and he swept it into the bottom corner.

After that, the Bees took their foot off the pedal and Macclesfield came into the game. After a couple of saves from Dean Colasurdo, he couldn't stop the shot after it deflected from Tom Ainsleys stick. After stopping a few short corners and a desperate cry for a goal from the home team, claiming the 16 had been taken, the Bees were glad to go into half time 2-1 up.

It took about 2 minutes to make it 3-1 and it was the best one of the lot. The Bees passed the ball around with speed and precision, involving Ed Holmes, Alan Leonard, Sean Stewart and then Simon Lamb. Simon found Rigby at the back post who could've gone for goal, but he selflessly squared it to Greenhough who couldn't miss.

Gareth Hampton added a fourth and Sean Smith added a rebound fifth after Simon Lamb had shot into the keepers pads. Macclesfield pulled one back after the attacker was left unmarked on the penalty spot to sweep it in although the defence cut out many other chances. Hampton added his second and South Manchester's sixth with 5 minutes to play to put icing on the victory.

A good, solid win the Bees who see out their season next weekend away at Triton. Man of the Match went to Ant Rigby for his continuous wing running.
