Following plenty of discussion, feedback and enthusiasm across the club, South Manchester Hockey Club has made the collective decision that now is the right time to launch a women’s team for the 2026/27 season.

For years, we’ve built a club centred around good people, inclusive culture, development, socials, tours and a genuine sense of belonging — and now we’re incredibly proud to open the next chapter of that journey.

Whether you’re an experienced player, someone returning to hockey after years away, or completely new to the sport and fancy giving it a go, you’ll be welcomed into a supportive environment where you can play at your level, develop at your pace, and simply enjoy being part of a brilliant club.

This isn’t just about starting another team. It’s about building something from the ground up together. Creating a new culture, new memories, new friendships and a new future for the club.
