On Saturday, May 13th, 2023, South Manchester H.C. held its Annual General Meeting at The Northern Monk Refectory MCR. Chairman Tom Sammes welcomed everyone and commenced the meeting. He expressed his congratulations to everyone on another successful season and noted the impressive turnout for the AGM.

Treasurer Mark Scholes presented the club's financial report, stating that a small deficit had been incurred in the past year. He attributed this to increased running costs, particularly due to the higher percentage of player and club fees received this year.

Following the financial report, the Chairman initiated the voting process for the 2023/24 committee. The positions of Chairman, Treasurer, Club Captain, 1st XI Captain, 1st XI Vice-Captain, 2nd XI Captain, and 2nd XI Vice-Captain were up for election.

Mike Moore, in his first season with the club, stood uncontested and was awarded the position of Chairman. Adnaan Karim succeeded Mark Scholes as Treasurer after a long and successful tenure. Fergus Cooper, the incumbent Club Captain, expressed his decision to continue in the role and was confirmed unanimously.

For the role of Social & Diversity, Ian Whitehead graciously took over the responsibilities for the season, raising hopes for more social events within the club. Scott Forster, who had captained the 1st XI for a significant period, opted to take a break from the role. This allowed Ben Greenwood to step up as the new 1st XI Captain, demonstrating his capability to lead not only the 1st XI but also the 2nd XI and the entire club. Richard Greenhough was elected as the Vice-Captain for the 1st XI.

Ray Lysaght was elected unopposed as the 2nd XI Captain, following his successful stint as interim captain while Ian Whitehead took a well-deserved break from hockey for a few months. Tom Hornsby emerged as the 2nd XI Vice-Captain, winning the position after a closely contested battle of words.

These committee members would form the leadership team for South Manchester H.C. for the 2023/24 season.
